Rules

1. Play nice. IC is not OOC. Think of it like this. There are two universes. The one in which we write about the characters, and the one in which the characters exist. What happens in each universe stays in that universe.

2. Don't godmod. If you control another character, you need to act permission first. That means you don't even say "My character made the other person's character eat a cookie." You can say "My character waited while the other person's character ate a cookie." If you kill someone's character without permission, you're out of the game.

FAQ

Activity Check
Two threads per character. Each thread must have at least four comments from your character.

Character Cap
Two characters per player.

Drop
If you want to drop, just drop a note in the OOC comm and tag it as drop. If you're picking up a character that has been dropped, it's okay to not pick up where the other person started. The character will have just lost their memory of their time there before, and may remember parts of their lives differently. If you're picking up the same character you dropped, there will be some memory loss, but not to such a major extent.

Hiatus
Hiatus is whenever you'll be gone for at least five days. Declaring it and making it official helps us know that you didn't die on you way home from wherever. They can last up to a month (30 days - it's a very precise month). You'll be exempt from AC during this time, but only if you declare a hiatus.

Pace
This game is going to be very, very slow, because people are busy. We're going to try one day in game equaling four days in verse. That should give everyone plenty of time to play out classroom scenes and such.

Roommates are chosen at random after your application is accepted.

There are two dorms, each consisting of three floors. Nearly entirely shadowed glass and steel from the outside, inside, the layout is simple, with a large common room on the bottom floor and smaller ones on the floor above. Each one has a television and a DVD player. The first-floor common room also has a ping-pong table, comfortable couches and seats, and video game consoles.

The basement looks almost like a very clean weapons-testing facility. Characters who test it will discover that, if not for the elevator and stairwell, it would be completely soundproof, even if an explosion goes off there. This is, possibly-not-coincidentally, where the laundry and kitchen are, in case characters want to make their own food. They can request kitchen-related items by writing them on a pad on the fridge, and it will be there waiting for them after they get back from classes. So if they request it first thing Monday morning and then go to classes, it'll be waiting when they get back. If they request it Monday night, it won't be there until Tuesday afternoon.

The rooms are the truly impressive aspects. Each one is large enough for three people while still managing to feel cozy. One wall is entirely glass. Characters who try to break it will have a difficult time of doing so.

Bathrooms are common and located at the end of each hall, across from the entrance to the stairwell. Yes, the wall is glass here, too, but there are curtains, which the bedrooms don't have unless characters make them themselves.

This might be a little thing, but it's conceivable that after a while, characters may find a flies in their rooms, or even something that looks like mold infestation in an upper corner. These are, in fact, very advanced bugs and cameras.

And there came a day unlike any other, when earth's mightiest heroes were united against a common threat! On that day the Avengers were born! -- To fight the foes no single hero could withstand!

It used to be heroes would appear when you needed them, but SHIELD can no longer take chances. Its newest directive is not to find heroes, but to make them.

But you won't know anything about that. You might notice that "Bombs 101" and "Advanced Sniping" don't seem to be normal high school courses. You might even take this as a sign that all is not as it seems. You might realize that America has been enjoying peace for a very, very long time. You likely won't remember the last time someone was shot or a bomb went off - no one hears about any of that anymore. You might have heard your parents talk about the violence of the old days, might even figure out that the American media is having someone pull its strings.

Not that you can do anything about it.

SHIELD Campus has tough security. Not only is it nestled in mountains (you fell asleep in the car on the way and can't pinpoint where exactly), but there are security teams watching the perimeter who will think nothing of sending you back with a bullet if they have to. Obviously, they would rather use friendlier methods. If you're at the school, after all, it's because SHIELD thinks you might be an asset in the future.

And don't even think about asking someone to come get you. The media isn't the only thing being censored. And people who are too obvious tend to be seen with far less memory than they had before. They can't remember their suspicions, and any time spent investigating, they now they they spent in the gym or in studying. Some students disappear entirely, and you can't always be sure you can trust the new transfer student who started classes on a Wednesday. Who does that?

So you might as well enjoy your stay!

And really, it's not a bad place to stay. The dorm rooms are large, with the outer wall composed entirely of bullet-resistant glass. So what if you have to share the room with two other people, thus making it harder to keep secrets and form alliances with one without alienating the other? Check out the library, with all of the books you could wish for - excepting 1984. But all the other books you could imagine with your limited upbringing? There. And the cafeteria is fit for the President. The food is to kill for.

Sure, sure. The teachers are hardasses and often sound more like drill sergeants, but it's obvious that you were chosen for greatness. Take it as the compliment it is.

And hope that your classmates don't crack and turn into villains.
